To celebrate the grand opening of the new Westfield Stratford City shopping centre in just under two weeks (on 13 Sept 2011), the giant shopping centre has just released an amazing video retracing 100 years of fashion in East London. Watch this eye catching video here!

If the impressive list of fashion stores opening at Westfield Stratford City was not enough to get us excited about the new giant shopping centre, this video certainly takes it to another level. The short film was created by The Viral Factory and directed by Jake Lunt, and is brilliant illustration of the evolution of fashion over the past 100 years. The short movie was filmed in four different East London locations and finishes in the new Westfield shopping centre in Stratford, East London. The video retraces 100 years of fashion from 1911, through the 30s, post war, the 60s and the first glimpse of ladies in trousers, through the maxi dress and wide trousers of the 70s, sleek 80s, baggy 90s up to today.

The video will appeal to anyone with an interest in fashion or in history! It’s exactly 100 years of East London style in 100 seconds, in music. The couple dancing in the video wear 60 different costumes over the 100 minutes of the video. The soundtrack has been created by Tristin Norwell, who re-interpreted the track for each different decade.

The new Stratford City shopping centre next to the Olympic Park will open on 13 September.
