The latest DLR improvements have been completed in time for this year’s summer timetable and it means more DLR trains to Stratford from today!
After a long three-year, £325million investment programme, the service is now improved with more DLR trains on all lines and 55 new carriages on the network.
Morning passengers will appreciate the new morning peak timetable which has seen a rise in trains between Bank and Lewisham via Canary Wharf from an average of 13.3 an hour to 15, enabling an extra 1,100 passengers to travel each hour.
The only line to see a reduction in trains is the Stratford to Canary Wharf route where midday services will be reduced from seven to five. This is a temporary measure and is linked to the next phase of construction, which will see stations on the line adapted for three car use in time for the Olympics. Increasing the capacity of the DLR is vital ahead of the 2012 Games in Stratford.
