Games specialist Nintendo is planning a special event at Westfield Stratford in February. Stratford is set to become Mario Land for the whole of next month for a special event called “Mario is coming to town: Half-Term Heroes“. The event will offer games the opportunity to meet their heroes, try out new games and win special prizes.

Shoppers at Westfield Stratford will be able to sample Nintendo’s latest games including Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, Cave Story 3D, Tetris and One Piece, as well as eShop games like Pullblox. There will also be a 16+ area offering a chance to try out upcoming 3DS titles Tekken 3D and Resident Evil: Revelations. The event will also be an opportunity to win prizes and vouchers. A Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympics stand will be set up outside GAME, where visitors will be able to try out both the 3DS and Wii versions. Super Mario fans will be delighted to find out that there will be a Mario Kart 7 leaderboard tournament to celebrate their hero. Nintendo will also provide a treasure hunt around Westfield Stratford, with participants able to bring their own 3DS along or hire one on the day. In other words, February will provide tons of fun at Westfield Stratford.
