The new Westfield Stratford City shopping centre is situated just outside Stratford’s underground, DLR and Overground station in East London. The station is one of the best connected in London with 10 different transport lines running from it. If you want to travel to Stratford City by tube, you can use the Central line eastbound or the Jubilee line as both lines stop at Stratford. Once if the tube, you’re only minutes walk from 300 shops, 70 restaurants and bar, the Vue Cinema and the casino. If you’re travelling by taxi or using a sat nav, give the driver the E20 postcode for Westfield Stratford (E20 1EJ).
Stratford is located at the North West end of the London Borough of Newham in East London. Stratford has always used postcode E15 but Royal Mail has given a new postcode to the Stratford City shopping centre, the new offices and the Olympic Park. The new postcode is E20. Some people will recognise the E20 postcode as it was used to represent the fake borough of Walford in the BBC TV soap, EastEnders. The E20 postcode was selected by the Royal Mail despite the next available East London code being E19. In fact, the Olympic Park is so big that it sits in four boroughs: Newham, Tower Hamlets, Hackney and Waltham Forest. Despite being predominantly situated in Stratford, E15, it made sense to give the new area its own postcode: E20.
The Olympic Park Legacy Company will build 11,000 new homes on the Olympic park once the games are over and they will all boast the new E20 postcodes. The owners will definitely feel like true East Londoners!
